Mexico - Cozumel

I do believe that the boys favorite stop on the cruise was our last - Cozumel.
One reason......the ice burg.

See that giant white thing in the picture? That is the ice burg and the boys loved it! They paid $12 each to be able to play on that and all those other blow up toys for the entire day. They got so sunburnt....Caleb only finished pealing this last weekend.

The boys also got an all you can eat and drink package....now you can see why it was their favorite day!

Jessica and I had a much cheaper day, we lay on the beach and read.

Then we read some more, swam a little and slept a little.

Then we read some more.....I finished my book.

Belize

Our third stop was Belize City, Belize.

We spent most of our time walking around the city seeing the sights, like a really old church and a light house. But we ran out of energy really fast because it was so hot!

The thing I loved about Belize the most was all the old buildings, they were a little run down but that almost seemed to make them more beautiful.

Belize was a little more scary than our other stops, just because of the amount of people and all the things they offered us (pot and ladies for the guys once Jessica and I weren't around).

We also met or were latched onto by a guy named Harry who was a little bit creepy. He was more interested in Jessica and I than the boys....he said that Jessica was sexy and that I was beautiful and had big cheeks.....whatever that means.

Isla Roatan

Your first question will most likely be where? The majority of people I have told about Isla Roatan have no idea where it is, and they usually react by saying "Isla where?" So for those of you who don't know Roatan is a small Island off Honduras and it has a population of about 30,000 people.

We began our day by finding a great taxi driver Arturo who took us where ever we wanted for the whole day. We started off by going to the monkey farm.

Dave and Caleb loved the monkeys!

Jessica didn't like the monkeys very much....which was pretty funny because they seemed to like her the best (or her water bottle). When we first walked into their cage the closest monkey launched itself onto Jessica's back, giving her a little bit of a fright.

There were also great birds that would sit on your shoulder.

I was pretty proud of myself because as many of you know I'm a big woos....usually I wouldn't go in the cages. But this time I let a monkey sit on me and a bird.....I'm getting pretty daring in my old age.

There were also deer, how cute is it?

This is the view I saw for a lot of our trip, I'm a slow walker.

A sweet looking church.

The picture at the top of this post was our second major stop while we were on the island. Once again we got away from the crowds and tried to actually see the real Roatan, not just the sterilized cruise version.
We just relaxed by the water and in the water. I also got a massage from a local woman for $10, it was pretty amazing.

One big thing I noticed in Roatan was all the pepsi advertising, it was everywhere!

Grand Cayman

Our first stop on the cruise was to Grand Cayman.

I took this picture of Caleb in front of some public toilets, because almost everything in Grand Cayman seemed to be painted in pastels. Now usually here in Canberra if people paint their houses this kind of colour it looks weird....but on an island it just seems to work.

It was a overcast day and also pretty windy, but this didn't stop Caleb and Dave wanting to swim. But their swim only lasted 5 mins because they noticed some small jelly fish in the water. Mind you the jelly fish didn't seem to bother the middle aged women who were also swimming.

To get away from the crowds (there were 3 other cruise ships on the island along with ours) we rented a jeep and drove to quiet side of the island.

After swimming and beach time we drove to Mrs Vivienne's for lunch which is a place where all the locals eat.

We sat outside and enjoyed a great view of the ocean.

Caleb and Dave have so much fun together, they had a lovely time relaxing in the hammocks provided.

We had fried chicken and rice for lunch, it was yum.

The funniest thing about Mrs Vivienne's was that it was at her house....now you may be like that isn't very funny a lot of people live above their restaurants. But there was no restaurant here, just her house and a few tables out the back to sit at, she even cooks from her own kitchen. Just like any other kitchen with cornflakes sitting on the fridge and your normal cupboards and everything.

This was the place across from Mrs Vivienne's, I took the photo to show you the paint...again.

We are back

Where have our blogs gone? That has been the big question these last couple of weeks....but the real question should have been, where have we gone?

Answer: USA, Grand Cayman, Isla Roatan, Belize & Mexico

Many of you know that last year Larry came to visit us here in Australia and surprised Caleb. Well when our friends Dave and Jessica invited us to go on a cruise with them we thought it would be a wonderful time to get Larry back with a surprise visit! Leslie was the only one who knew, she picked us up from the airport and we gave Larry a little bit of a shock as you can see from the photo below.

The next day we also had the pleasure of picking Mara up from the airport and surprising her also!

I will fill you in more about the cruise in the following days....one post per stop.
